Al-Rafidain Bank Cautions Against Fake Pages, Denies Financial Competitions or Grant Announcements

Al-Rafidain Bank announced on Friday its complete denial of launching any competitions or financial grants, issuing a warning to citizens against falling victim to electronic fraud. The bank clarified in a statement that fake pages and accounts are impersonating it on social media platforms. These fraudulent accounts promote misleading advertisements claiming to offer financial sums or launch competitions and prizes, conditional on subscribing to specific channels on the Telegram application or performing other actions. The bank emphasized that these pages and accounts have no affiliation with it whatsoever, confirming that it has not issued any such advertisement, promotional campaign, or competition of this kind. The bank also strongly urged citizens not to interact with these pages or respond to any advertisements or links they publish. It warned against providing these entities with any personal data, banking information, verification codes, or passwords, noting that these methods are used to entrap victims and seize their data, accounts, and funds, or exploit their personal information in fraud, electronic blackmail, or any other illicit practices.
