Al-Nuaman: Coalition Withdrawal Final, Advanced Air Defense, Security Coordination with KRG

Spokesperson for the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Brigadier General Sabah Al-Nuaman, announced on Thursday that September 30 marks the final deadline for the withdrawal of US forces and the conclusion of the International Coalition's mission, calling it a "crowning of national sovereignty." Al-Nuaman revealed the imminent arrival of advanced air defense systems, contracted by Iraq with South Korea, Turkey, and the United States, to enhance national airspace protection, designating this a "top priority." Al-Nuaman clarified that the Commander-in-Chief's office monitors the field, providing logistical support to expedite foreign forces' departure following the complete elimination of the ISIS military threat. This week, a high-level security meeting, supervised by the Commander-in-Chief and attended by military formations and Peshmerga leaders, yielded urgent recommendations. These include supporting joint security brigades and securing border crossings, alongside an agreement with the Kurdistan Region government for direct handover of wanted individuals to the Joint Coordination Center, bypassing previous routines. On the anti-drug front, Al-Nuaman highlighted the Commander-in-Chief's directive for a comprehensive strategy to make Iraq drug-free. This strategy has three pillars: deterrence and pursuit of dealers/intermediaries, care for users with therapeutic environments, and intensified educational efforts. He explained the law treats cooperating users as "informants or witnesses," confirming full financial and moral support for the Anti-Narcotics Directorate, which must submit monthly impact reports. Al-Nuaman also affirmed order-keeping forces' continued role in securing peaceful demonstrations and facilitating demand submission to government bodies. He warned against promoting rumors and extremist discourse, citing strict judicial directives for firm action against perpetrators nationwide.
