Speaker of the Council of Representatives Haybat al-Halbousi considered, today Wednesday, al-Sadr's decision to separate the Peace Brigades from the National Shia Movement and join the state as an important step in supporting state authority, enhancing stability, and consolidating the rule of law.

Al-Halbousi stated in a communiqué that he highly values the responsible national stance of National Shia Movement leader Muqtada al-Sadr regarding the complete separation of the Peace Brigades and their joining of state institutions, considering it an important step in supporting state prestige and consolidating the rule of law.

He noted that Iraq has passed through exceptional circumstances, wars, and major security challenges in recent years that imposed a special nature on that phase, but the country today is moving toward construction and reconstruction, requiring support for state institutions and enabling them to perform their full role in maintaining security and serving citizens.

He called for the continuation of responsible national steps that contribute to restricting weapons to state authority, adhering to the constitution and law, sparing the country any tensions or divisions, and working in a spirit of national responsibility.

He emphasized that the country today needs to build a strong state capable of facing internal and external challenges, working to achieve national sovereignty in a way that enhances Iraq's security and stability and preserves the interests of its people.
