Al-Halbousi and Turkish Intelligence Chief Affirm Support for Iraq's Bid to Retrieve Corrupt Fugitives Abroad

Mohamed al-Halbousi, leader of the Taqaddum Party, and Ibrahim Kalin, Head of Turkish Intelligence, emphasized on Tuesday the critical importance of supporting the new Iraqi government's efforts to track and extradite individuals accused of corruption who have fled the country. The discussion occurred during al-Halbousi's reception of Kalin and his accompanying delegation in Baghdad, where both parties reviewed regional and international developments. Furthermore, the meeting addressed strengthening cooperation between Iraq and Turkey, especially in security and intelligence domains. Both officials underscored backing governmental endeavors to pursue and recover corrupt fugitives, in addition to discussing other matters of shared concern.
