Al-Fayyad Affirms Defensive Jihad Fatwa Saved Iraq

The head of the Popular Mobilization Forces (PMF) Commission, Faleh Al-Fayyad, stated on Saturday that the Defensive Jihad fatwa was instrumental in saving Iraq and its people. In a speech, Al-Fayyad elaborated that this fatwa embodied the highest values of sacrifice, preserving the nation's security, unity, and sovereignty, and shielding Iraq from the most dangerous existential threat it faced in modern history. He affirmed the PMF has evolved into a well-established national force representing all components of the Iraqi populace. Al-Fayyad noted that the integration of security forces and the PMF played a crucial role in achieving victory and safeguarding Iraq's security and stability. He stressed that the sacrifices of martyrs and mujahideen have inscribed a bright chapter in Iraq's history, reaffirming the commitment to developing the PMF and cementing its status as a national institution within the state's security framework. He also highlighted the significant support provided by Husseini processions, holy shrines, and national institutions to the PMF, underscoring that the supreme religious authority, with its wisdom and insight, exemplified the highest ideals of national and humanitarian leadership.
