Al-Araji Reaffirms Iraq's Full Respect for Kuwait
On Sunday, National Security Advisor Qasim Al-Araji reaffirmed Iraq's full respect for the State of Kuwait during his meeting with Mary Yamashita, the Special Representative of the UN Secretary-General, and Ghulam Mohammad Ishaqzai, the UN Resident Coordinator in Iraq. The discussions covered Security Council Resolution 2792 on Kuwaiti archives and missing persons, alongside efforts to boost joint cooperation between Iraq and the UN. Al-Araji affirmed the Iraqi government's readiness for full cooperation on various international files and its commitment to Security Council resolutions, particularly on the humanitarian issue. He noted Iraq's continued policy of building balanced relations with sisterly and friendly nations. He reiterated Iraq's full respect for the sisterly State of Kuwait, its government and people, emphasizing that the Iraqi and Kuwaiti peoples share strong social ties and common strategic interests that bolster regional security and stability. Yamashita, for her part, praised Iraq's government cooperation with the UN on various files, stressing the importance of sustained joint efforts and coordination to advance regional and international peace and security.
