2026 Government: Cabinet Approves Victim Compensations and Grants "SOMO" Exceptional Powers to Boost Oil Exports

 PM Al-Sudani chaired the 17th cabinet session of 2026, approving compensations for victims of recent military attacks. To counter regional navigation disruptions, "SOMO" was granted broad powers to adopt flexible marketing strategies and boost crude oil exports. The cabinet also prioritized Baghdad's water security, school projects in the marshes, and commemorated the Speicher massacre. Furthermore, visa exemptions for Libyan diplomatic passports were approved, alongside fiscal measures to ensure infrastructure continuity throughout 2026.
